FAQs

Questions, answered plainly.

A quick note about care: TherapyFind is a directory, not a medical provider. We don't give medical advice, diagnose, or recommend treatment. Always verify a provider's credentials and talk to a qualified professional about your care.

For families

Is TherapyFind really free?

Yes — searching, browsing, saving providers, and setting call reminders are free, always. We make money from optional Premium listings that practices buy, not from you.

Do I need an account to search?

No. Browse and search all you want with no account. You'll only need a free account when you want to save a provider or set a reminder to call.

Where do your listings come from?

Every listing starts from the national provider registry (NPI), so providers are verified from day one — we don't wait for practices to sign up before you can find them.

What does the Premium badge mean?

A Premium badge means the practice pays for a featured listing — top placement, a richer profile, and a Book Now button. Listings without the badge are free, verified listings. The badge is only shown while a paid subscription is active.

Do you show provider street addresses?

Yes. Listings show the provider's practice address from the national provider registry, so you can see exactly how close they are to you and plan your visit.

How do I find a speech therapist near me?

Type "speech" in the search box and add your city or ZIP — you'll get a list of verified speech-language pathologists near you, with their practice address, phone number, and whether they accept Medicare. No account needed to browse. When you find one you like, save them to your free account so you don't lose track, and set a call reminder.

What does speech therapy help with?

Speech-language pathologists help with much more than stuttering — they treat speech sound disorders, language delays, voice problems, social communication challenges, and swallowing difficulties in both kids and adults. If you're searching for a specific need, try terms like "speech" plus your city, then check each provider's specialty on their listing.

How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?

Common signs include not meeting speech milestones for their age, being hard for others to understand, stuttering, or struggling to follow directions. Only a qualified professional can evaluate your child — but if you're unsure, start by searching for pediatric speech-language pathologists near you and call to ask about an evaluation. TherapyFind is a directory, not a medical provider, so we can't diagnose — the provider can.

Does insurance cover speech therapy?

Often, yes — many commercial plans cover speech therapy when it's medically necessary, and Medicare covers it in many cases (look for the green "Accepts Medicare" badge on listings). Coverage varies by plan, so always call the provider and your insurer to confirm before booking. Premium listings can show exactly which insurance plans they accept, right on their profile.

How do I find a physical therapist near me?

Search "physical therapy" plus your city or ZIP. Every listing is verified from the national provider registry, so you'll see real practices with their address and phone number. Physical therapists help with recovery after injury or surgery, chronic pain, balance, and mobility — check the specialty on each listing to find the right fit.

How do I find an occupational therapist near me?

Search "occupational therapy" and your location. Occupational therapists help people build or recover the skills for daily life — from fine motor skills and sensory processing in kids to rehab after stroke or injury in adults. Listings show each provider's specialty so you can match their focus to your needs.

How do I find a counselor or mental health therapist?

Search terms like "counseling," "psychologist," or "mental health" plus your city. TherapyFind covers every therapy discipline — not just mental health — so you'll see counselors, social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists together in one place, all verified from the national provider registry.

Can I search by the insurance plan I have?

Not yet — insurance filtering is coming soon. For now, you can filter results by Medicare acceptance (flagged with a green badge), and many provider profiles list the plans they accept — please verify with the provider before booking, since coverage varies by plan.

Do you list therapists in my city?

Almost certainly. TherapyFind has over 3 million verified providers across the country — every state, every therapy discipline. Orlando, FL is one of our most-searched areas, and Florida listings include full street addresses. Just type your city or ZIP into the search box and see who's nearby.

How do I pick the right therapist from the results?

Start with specialty and location, then look for the details that matter to you: insurance accepted, Medicare badge, and — on Premium profiles — bio, hours, services, and reviews. Save your top picks to your free account, then call 2–3 to ask about availability, approach, and cost. The first call is how most families decide.

Refer & earn

How does the referral program work?

Know a provider who should be on TherapyFind? Refer them and earn cash. You get $5 for every provider who signs up for monthly Premium through your link, and $20 for every annual signup. Payouts are for Premium signups only — free listings don't earn payouts. Anyone can join — get your referral link here.

When and how do I get paid?

We pay out once a month for all approved referrals. You'll see every referral and earning in your dashboard, and we'll send your payout via PayPal around the 5th of each month. Just add your PayPal email in your referral dashboard.

For practices — Premium

Why should my practice get a Premium listing?

Exposure. TherapyFind is the biggest therapy directory across all disciplines — over 3 million verified providers — and families come here actively looking for care. A Premium listing puts your practice at the top of search results in your area, with a badge that tells families you're featured. Your free listing is already here; Premium makes sure people see it first.

What do I get with Premium?

Top placement in search results, a Premium badge on your listing, a rich profile with your photo, bio, detailed services list, hours, and Google reviews, plus the ability to add the insurance plans you accept, and a Book Now button. All for $10/month or $100/year — the best value of any therapy directory.

Can I add the insurance plans my practice accepts?

Yes — with Premium, you can list the commercial insurance plans your practice accepts (BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and more) right on your profile. Families look for insurance details when choosing a provider, so adding your plans helps the right clients find you and makes your listing stand out from free listings.

How do I sign up for Premium?

Easy: go to therapyfind.org/premium-signup, find your listing, verify it with your work email, pick monthly ($10) or annual ($100), and check out securely. Your Premium listing goes live as soon as payment confirms.

What makes TherapyFind different?

Three things: we cover every therapy discipline, not just mental health; we're the best value at $10/month; and every provider is verified from the national registry from day one — you're already listed, Premium just puts you first.

How do I cancel my Premium subscription?

You can cancel anytime from the billing portal (enter the email you signed up with). Your Premium listing stays live until the end of your paid period — monthly or annual — and then it reverts to the free version automatically.

Do I get a refund if I cancel mid-month?

We don't offer partial-month refunds. When you cancel a monthly plan, your Premium listing stays live until the end of the month you've already paid for.

What if I just signed up for the annual plan and changed my mind?

Annual plans come with a full refund within the first 14 days — no questions asked. Email admin@therapyfind.org within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund the full $100.

What happens to my listing when I cancel?

It reverts to the free version: your name, credentials, specialty, location, and phone stay listed, but the Premium badge, top placement, rich profile (photo, bio, services, hours, insurance, Google reviews), Book Now button are removed. Resubscribe anytime and your Premium profile is restored.

How does Book Now work?

Premium practices paste the link to their own scheduling page (SimplePractice, Jane, Calendly, or whatever they use). The Book Now button on their listing opens that page directly — we never take bookings ourselves or take a cut.
